Hands down - my days are *infinitely* better when I work out in the mornings!
I am able to set the tone for my day. I feel (a bit :) more in control of my life and my energy. I feel like a different person than the one who just wanted to hit snooze (again & again) 40 minutes earlier.
It's my time to get focused & I get DETERMINED to create a great day!
My emotional energy becomes HIGH - so instead of trying to pump myself up for hours to tackle the day, I'm already in the groove!
So, my TOP 5 REASONS for working out first thing???
There are tons of studies that show why working out in the mornings helps - more oxygen, increased blood flow, improved brain function, consistency, etc., etc. But on a personal level, exercising in the morning completely sets the tone for my day & transforms my mindset - I don't say this lightly either! 💥
But here are mine:
1. It immediately helps me to feel a wee bit more in control of my life & mindset. 💥☺️ I can't begin to explain how helpful this is for me!
2. I eat better all throughout the day. 🍒
3. I have a LOT more energy & am much more positive!
4. It's not still hanging over my head at 6 pm. (The worst!)
5. It keeps me consistent (which is the key to results!) I'm MUCH more likely to skip a workout if I push it until night!
Yesterday was a focus on core strength - loved this one -- lift your shoulders & chest off the ground while circling your forearms... at the same time, flutter kick your feet. See how long you can go!💥💪👊🏻 Strengthening your CORE (not just your abs) is an awesome way to also help prevent back issues, back pain, or back injury!
And yes - I've been doing most of my workouts at home for the last two years. These programs are INCREDIBLE! The super encouraging & inspiring women in my private accountability group help to keep it FUN - so I never feel "alone" in my workouts!
I've also never been more consistent or stronger in my life - including my 6 years in the Navy! Being able to fit in 30 minutes a day makes it work for me! Done & DONE!
Plus working out at home first thing in the morning means no traffic, no commute to the gym, no missing classes, no lugging changes of clothes & shower stuff in my bag, the list goes on.
Don't get me wrong - I still LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my studio classes like yoga, barre, spinning & pilates, but I fit those in when I can. But as you can see below - leaving my workouts to chance can get frustrating! :) #truestory #momlife #mylife LOL!
