WHAT ARE THE LET’S GET UP! WORKOUTS LIKE?

The LET’S GET UP! program is 30-35 minutes of pure joy, 6 days a week, for 30 days.
The workouts consist of easy-to-follow cardio dance sequences, bodyweight resistance training, and even some INSANITY-based moves set to music.

The dynamic dance structure of each workout builds to a “performance moment” where you learn simple yet impressive choreography that’s perfectly crafted to post on all your social media platforms.

Make no mistake — the burn is REAL in this program. The dance moves will leave you dripping in sweat, plus Shaun adds two dumbbell resistance workouts per week to torch fat, raise your metabolism, and sculpt your entire body.

Q: What kind of equipment will I need? 
A: 
  • A workout step - this is the "official" Transform:20 step here. Or something like this one will work too! 
    Some test group participants prefer the Beachbody on because they thought the moves & transitions were easier to do with it.  Those dimensions are 11" x 27" x 4".
  • Free weights. I usually suggest heading to Target or Dick's to pick up weights.
Q: How is the program laid out?  Are there phases? 
A:  YES! There are 3 phases, each 2 weeks long.
Phase 1: COMMIT.  You'll start with the 2-week "commit" phase.  This gets your mind in the game & your body some great results.  
Phase 2: CLIMB.
You'll continue to do your daily dose of physical AND mental "therapy" ... yup!  I said therapy!  There's a HUGE mental component to this program!
Phase 3. CONQUER.  You'll enter the final phase ready to really dial it in, finish STRONG, and ROCK those results!

Q: What kind of fitness level do I need to start?
A:  You start where you are. For real! There are modifiers for every move because we KNOW that you're (most likely) going to need to modify SOMETHING.  
Whether it's because you have "bad knees" or you're just starting on your fitness journey or something else, the point is to give it YOUR BEST EFFORT.  That's how you improve & get results.  It's about progress, not perfection!
Q: Is this low-impact? 
A:  Beachbody isn't considering this low-impact.  BUT, there are lots of modifiers AND ZERO high jumps, diamond squats, or anything like you've seen in Max:30 or Insanity.  
Q: Is this program really going to work?
A:  Are YOU going to do the work?
The results you get will be a reflection of your effort.  Plain & simple.  Trust the process, follow your plan, and you are going to be AMAZED with how your body changes!

SO - What’s included in Transform :20?
  • 2 Prep Workouts – Do these before you begin the program to get an idea of what’s to come! You can do those in December in my VIP launch group. We are going to be doing Shaun T’s prep schedule as a group.  I'll walk you through all of it!
  • 36 Unique Workouts – Each day has a different 20 minute workout done in real time with no do-overs or repeats to keep you engaged and motivated.
  • 6 Bonus Routines – These can be done in addition to your regular workouts or on days off.
  • 6 Bonus Weighted Workouts – These full-body workouts utilize dumbbells to take your workout up a notch. I'll definitely be adding these to my workout schedule, but even if you "modify the modifier", you'll STILL get results!
  • Transformers – Each workout features three 1-minute physical challenges that repeat weekly. You use the tracking sheet that comes with your kit to write your number of reps for each transformer and the goal is to beat out your number from the week prior.

Starting over at the beginning.

My very 1st workout after having Ava was tough.
My core strength was zip. It was tough to tighten my muscles. My baby belly was stretched.  I could hold a plank for a grand total of about 3 seconds.
I felt like I was starting all over from the beginning.
And you know what? ALL of this was OK! It was 110% totally OK!

In so many ways, I was absolutely in AWE that my body could grow and change for a second time to create this amazing little life! WOW!!!

​Our stretchy skin is just what happens after we carry & bring into this world these incredible miracles! It's pretty amazing how our bodies can change and create LIFE!

I loved my growing baby belly and I was proud to wear a bikini at the beach at 9 months pregnant!!
 
But I also wondered if it would even be possible for my stretched skin to return. It was very different than when I had Lila. I wanted to feel strong again - that was my goal.

So what did I do?  I gave myself grace. I gave myself time. I told myself to take things one day at a time. I breathed deeply when I'd start to get overwhelmed. 


During this 1st workout, my goal was to keep perspective. That was it. 

I told myself that I would "put my blinders on" when it came to my workouts. 

I didn't attach a "bad" or "good" so much as "I'm doing my best with where I am"... and that was good enough. And then, I'd "rinse and repeat" the next day.

Becoming emotional about "where I wasn't" wasn't going to help. Instead, I put that emotional energy into positive action. 

I listened to positive, uplifting music. #klove 

I spoke kind words to myself when the negative ones would creep in - this was an INTENTIONAL action.  I ate foods that I knew would increase my energy, not zap it!

And I promised myself that every time I would pass a mirror - and my eyes would immediately start to gravitate to spots I wanted to improve - I would stop. 

Instead, I gave thanks for my baby, for my health, my family, for ALL the amazing blessings in my life. I ACTIVELY decided to do this. 

But by doing this, it also shifted my focus. It freed up my energy & changed my emotions. 

It put me back in control of thinking positive thoughts rather than allowing negative ones to creep in. 

And day by day, I became stronger. It wasn't overnight - but it was consistent. And those little drops of consistency turned into positive changes.  And I KNEW that whatever my body was after this pregnancy was ok.  

I hear from so many women that they "just don't feel like themselves" after pregnancy or that they want to make time for themselves again ... and really, that's totally understandable. We go through a LOT of changes.  But it's also possible to regain strength, feel strong, and be comfortable in your clothes. 

If you're in a place where you want to make a change, I want you to know IT IS SO POSSIBLE! I'd love to continue this journey TOGETHER!  Because really, it's a lot more fun to do this "health thing" with other people!!! 

We'll talk about your goals, we'll create a plan together, and you'll get some awesome 1:1 daily support from me and a great group of positive, motivated women!


It takes a decision, a plan, and little drops in the bucket every day. But I see goals reached day in, and day out. Big goals, small goals, and everything in between. They're all important... and they're ALL SO POSSIBLE!!!    ​​

VEGAN GLUTEN-FREE              (Decadent) BLACK BEAN BROWNIES

The idea that we "can't" have a certain food is so limiting.  And often, if we think we "can't" have something, we want it even more!!  Even if it's not good for us!

So, let's take a step back. 

What if I said, YES - you CAN have brownies.  And, YES - they CAN also be GOOD for you! 

(Insert big sigh. :)  haha.  These are absolutely delicious. And while you probably don't need to eat them every day - they are a great "sweet treat" option and a healthy alternative to artificial & processed ingredients!

These black bean brownies (vegan AND gluten-free) require just 1 bowl and about 30 minutes to prepare! Healthy, easy, and delicious - the best kind of dessert.
Serves 12
Ingredients -
  • 1 15-oz. (425 g) can (~ 1 3/4 cups) black beans, well rinsed and drained
  • 2 large flax eggs (2 heaping Tbsp (~16 g) flaxseed meal + 6 Tbsp (90 ml) water)
    (Or 4 egg whites for a non-vegan option.)
  • 3 Tbsp (45 g) coconut oil, melted (or sub other oil of choice)
  • 3/4 cup (72 g) cocoa powder (the higher quality the better)
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • heaping 1/2 cup (105 g) organic cane sugar or Whey Low sugar, slightly ground or pulsed in a food processor or coffee grinder for refined texture.  I also LOVE baking with a sugar created for diabetics called Whey Low.
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Optional toppings: crush walnuts, pecans, or dairy-free semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (176 C).
  2. Lightly grease a 12-slot standard size muffin pan (not mini). Make sure you've rinsed and thoroughly drained your black beans at this point.
  3. Prepare flax egg by combining flax and water in the bowl of the food processor. Pulse a couple times and then let rest for a few minutes.
    ​Or, just 
  4. Add remaining ingredients (besides walnuts or other toppings) and puree - about 3 minutes - scraping down sides as needed. You want it pretty smooth.
  5. If the batter appears too thick, add a Tbsp or two of water and pulse again. It should be slightly less thick than chocolate frosting but nowhere close to runny.
  6. Evenly distribute the batter into the muffin tin and smooth the tops with a spoon or your finger.
  7. Optional: Sprinkle with crushed walnuts, pecans or chocolate chips.
  8. Bake for 20-26 minutes or until the tops are dry and the edges start to pull away from the sides. I found mine took about 25.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool for 30 minutes before removing from pan. They will be tender, so remove gently with a fork. The insides are meant to be very fudgy, so don't be concerned if they seem too moist - that's the point. Plus, they're vegan so it doesn't really matter.
  10. Store in an airtight container for up to a few days. Refrigerate to keep longer.

Italian Dinner Done Right!

I am SO in love with the 2B Mindset approach to eating!  And even more ?? I can't WAIT to share tons of the delicious recipes HERE!
​What's even better?  Zero calorie counting, zero containers, zero guilt, AND ALWAYS feeling FULL & SATISFIED!

For most people, the idea of never being "allowed" to eat lasagna again ... or almost anything Italian style ... just doesn't work.  On top of that, if you are following a restrictive approach to eating, you're just going to feel guilty when you DO end up eating Italian foods.

Let's back up a quick sec!  Change the recipe slightly ... eat your Italian dinner with JOY ... and start enjoying every single meal!

Italian Lasagna Rollups and Eggplant Rounds

​Dinner Recipe Serves 4-6

Ingredients:
1 Box Explore Cuisine Lentil Lasagna Noodles  (or brown rice lasagna noodles)
1 Large Eggplant
2 Bags of Frozen Organic Spinach
2 Organic Eggs
1 1/2 Cups of Part Skim Ricotta 
2-3 Cups of Marinara Sauce (I really like Muir Glen marinara sauce!)
4 oz. of Part Skim Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Garlic and Onion Powder (optional)
Fresh or Dried Chopped Oregano or Basil (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
2. Fill a large pot with water and bring up to a boil.  
3. While water is heating, slice the eggplant into 1/4-1/2" disks and lay out over a pan lined with tin foil or parchment paper coated in olive oil spray. Sprinkle the eggplant slices with a tiny bit of salt and let them sit on the tray.

(The eggplant will begin to "sweat" and release water droplets on the surface - very cool - and very important so you don't have soggy lasagna!)
4. Defrost the 2 bags of spinach in a large microwave safe bowl. You could also defrost it the night before in the refrigerator, if you remember. Squeeze out all of the excess liquid from the spinach using a cheese cloth, kitchen towel, or your hands. 

(If you have time, I personally like to sautee the spinach with a little olive oil, garlic & onions.  It gives it a great flavor!)

5. To the boiled water, add lasagna noodles for just 2-3 minutes so they become rollable.  Dab up the water from the sweaty eggplants and pop into the oven for just 2-3 minutes to soften them further. 

6. To the drained spinach, add the eggs and ricotta, and any spices you like such as garlic, onion, basil, and oregano.  Mix to combine. 

7. Take out the lasagna noodles and separate them. To a large baking dish, add a little marinara on the bottom. Next, lay out a lasagna noodle, spread a thin layer of the spinach mix, then roll up and place in the dish. Repeat. 

8. Take out the eggplant, and make a sandwich with the spinach filling (seen above).
 
9. Top both dishes with some tomato sauce and cheese and bake for about 20 minutes until cheese gets bubbly.

I'm super excited to give you ALL the details on this new program!  It's a GAME CHANGER for sure for SO many people in the test group already!

2B Mindset :: FAQ
Can I access 2B Mindset on Beachbody On Demand?  

2B Mindset is on it’s own platform separate from Beachbody On Demand.  It is called our Nutrition Platform.  You will purchase this product and you will have forever access to the resources.
When is 2B Mindset Launching?
2B Mindset launches on May 2nd on the Nutrition tab on Beachbody On Demand. On June 4th 2B Mindset will also launch the Beachbody Nutrition + App.  Anyone who purchases 2B Mindset will have access to stream the program on the nutrition tab of Beachbody ON Demand and also the app.
Can I exercise while doing 2B?
Yes you can exercise but it is not required.  It is considered extra credit.
If you are going to do a program like 80 day obsession you can choose to forgo the 80 day nutrition plan and do the 2B Mindset eating!  Totally up to you!
Can you do 2B Mindset if you are pregnant or nursing?
2B Mindset is a weight loss program. Since pregnant mothers should be gaining weight and not losing weight, it is not advised that they follow 2B Mindset during pregnancy.  For breastfeeding mothers, La Leche League International advises to wait at least two months before making any drastic effort to lose weight in order to allow your body to recover and ensure a steady milk supply. Keep in mind that breastfeeding women may naturally lose one to four pounds per month simply due to the amount of energy required to nurse in the first place.
